“The safest risk is the one you didn’t take.”

The CAP Safety Policy is to minimize the risks faced by our membership in the performance of their volunteer duties.

SWR Safety Pledge

As a Civil Air Patrol member I pledge to promote an uncompromising safety environment for myself and others, and to prevent the loss of , or damage to Civil Air Patrol assets entrusted to me. I will perform all my activities in a professional and safe manner, and will hold myself accountable for my actions in all of our Missions for America.

CIVIL AIR PATROL SAFETY CULTURE

The CAP Safety program, by design, is to create awareness, reduce risk and provide a safer operating environment for all. The design of the program is built on trust and surety that all information is shared and used with the best interest of our members in mind. Safety is not punitive, should not be used to discipline, and when the program deviates from a positive approach, it should be shared. You can report concerns about safety practices through the online Hazard Reporting System. As members of Civil Air Patrol, our safety culture demands we all seek to learn from our mishaps and the mishap review process. This way we can approach safety concerns as a team and limit our exposure to unnecessary risk. Thank you for your support of safety, understanding of our guidelines, and participation in Civil Air Patrol activities.
